Passmore’s Goal Helps Colts Win

Evan Passmore (Barrie Colts)

Just three New York Rangers prospects played on Sunday and one of the least likely to score goals did so. Evan Passmore recorded just his second goal and helped his Barrie Colts earn a 4-1 win over the Oshawa Generals.

Just barely into the second period saw the Colts on the attack as Mason Zebeski found Passmore just to the left of the Oshawa goal. The Colt defenseman fired it over the glove for his first goal in 26 games (Oct 29th 2025).

Good for him as Passmore has just five goals in 155 career OHL games. One of the assistant captains on the Colts is a 6’5 217 stay-at-home defender who plays on the top pair.

The win extended the Colts unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1) as they improve to 25-10-2-4. Passmore is 2-2-4 on the season.

Artem Gonchar had a primary assist as his Sudbury Wolves dropped a 6-4 game to the Ottawa 67’s in OHL play. It was a power play goal that at the time gave Sudbury a 2-1 lead over Ottawa in the first period.

The lead held up until the second period when Ottawa would score four times to take over the game. For Gonchar, the assist improved his season totals to 9-20-29.

That puts him ninth in scoring among OHL defensemen.

Sadly the Wolves with their fourth straight loss dropped to 15-24-1-0 which is eighth in the OHL’s Eastern Conference.

Raoul Boilard and his Cape Breton Eagles were shutout 5-0 by the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada in QMJHL play. Boilard was 7-4 on his faceoffs after being moved to the first line for this game.

Sorry to say this but his offense has just totally disappeared as he is 1-0-1 in four games with the Eagles. It gets worse as he is just 2-1-3 in his last 14 games.

It is very hard to see the Rangers as willing to offer Boilard any kind of contract no matter how good he is on faceoffs.  Cape Breton has dropped three straight games.
