Just three New York Rangers prospects were in action Sunday as the regular season enters its final stretch. Fewer than ten games remain for most leagues, and we’re heading into a week where a single loss can end a prospect’s season.

Game Action

OHL

Greentree Nearly Hits a Gordie Howe Hat Trick

Liam Greentree came one goal shy of a Gordie Howe Hat Trick as Windsor beat Kitchener 5–2. He recorded a secondary assist on Windsor’s fourth goal at 17:58 of the third period, giving him his 29th assist and improving his season line to 34‑29‑63.

Greentree also earned his first fighting major of the season after dropping the gloves with Max Dirracolo in the first period. He did not finish the game, picking up a misconduct at 18:33 of the third after joining a scrum to defend a teammate following Windsor’s fifth goal.

The win pulled the Spitfires within two points of West Division–leading Flint, with Windsor holding a game in hand.

Gonchar’s Streak Ends

Artem Gonchar was held off the scoresheet in Sudbury’s 3–1 loss to North Bay. The defeat snapped his six‑game scoring streak (2‑6‑8) and cost the Wolves a chance to clinch a playoff berth.

QMJHL

Boilard Scoreless in OT Loss

Raoul Boilard went scoreless as Cape Breton fell 3–2 in overtime to Halifax. The Eagles extended their winless‑in‑regulation streak to four games (0‑2‑1‑1) and have slipped to sixth in the Western Conference.

Cape Breton is 2‑5‑1‑2 in its last ten and has just three games remaining. Their chances of earning home‑ice advantage are now virtually gone.

Larsson Out Again, RMU Advances

Rasmus Larsson missed his fifth straight game as Robert Morris defeated Air Force 5–1 to win their Atlantic Hockey quarterfinal series. The Colonials advance to face Sacred Heart in next week’s semifinals.

It’s a remarkable turnaround for a program that was suspended in 2021 and returned only in 2023–24. Despite a losing record (15‑19‑3), Robert Morris has authored one of college hockey’s best comeback stories.
