Rangers Prospects Shine in Tight OHL Race and NCAA Playoff Wins

Seven New York Rangers prospects played Saturday in playoff and regular‑season action. The top matchup featured Windsor facing Flint in a key OHL showdown.

OHL

Flint beat Windsor 4–2 in a battle for the West Division lead. Nathan Aspinall had the primary assist on Flint’s second goal. Jacob Battaglia went scoreless and finished 8‑20 on faceoffs.

Aspinall extended his scoring streak to eight games. He now sits at 30‑55‑85, second in OHL scoring. Liam Greentree scored his 34th goal for Windsor.

Greentree scored 23 seconds into the second period with the even‑strength goal came off a rush chance. He improved to 34‑28‑62 on the season.

 

He improved to 34‑28‑62 on the season.  Flint now leads Windsor by four points in the division race  with Windsor still holding two games in hand. The season series is tied 3–3.

Evan Passmore went scoreless in Barrie’s 5–2 win over the North Bay Battalion. Passmore has no goals in his last 21 games and no points in four.

NCHC Frozen Playoff

Ty Henricks (Western Michigan University)

Ty Henricks and Western Michigan beat Colorado College 2–1 in overtime and advanced to the NCHC semifinals. Henricks had a secondary assist on the game-tying goal. He improved to 9‑16‑25 this season. Western will face Denver next Saturday in Denver in the semifinals.

E.J. Emery and North Dakota beat Omaha 5–1 to also advance to the NCHC semifinals. Emery had a primary assist on North Dakota’s fourth goal. He now sits at 3‑8‑11 this season. North Dakota hosts Minnesota‑Duluth next Saturday in the semifinals.

Boston College Drops Fourth Straight

Drew Fortescue was scoreless in Boston College’s 4–2 loss to Northeastern. The Eagles have lost four straight games. They finish fourth in Hockey East.

Boston College hosts Maine next Friday in a quarterfinal. BC must win the Hockey East tournament to reach the NCAA field. The Eagles sit 18th in the NPI rankings.

Did Not Play

Rasmus Larsson missed his fourth straight game for Robert Morris. Robert Morris forced a deciding game with a 4–1 win over Air Force.

Larsson’s season has been difficult. He has played only 16 games as a sophomore.
