Good-Bye 2025

Evan Passmore (Barrie Colts)

Five New York Rangers prospects took to the ice on New Years Eve with just one assist to show for their efforts. A typical night that fits what has been a disappointing year from the Rangers.

Evan Passmore saw his Barrie Colts defeat Artem Gonchar’s Sudbury Wolves 4-1 in OHL play. Passmore was scoreless with just one shot as his Colts won their second straight game.

Barrie ends 2025 leading the OHL’s Central Division with a 21-10-1-4 record. Passmore is 1-1-2 after 34 games for the Colts.

Gonchar got the primary assist on Sudbury’s only goal as he improves to 9-15-24 in 32 games. The assist extends his scoring streak to seven games (3-6-9).

But his Wolves dropped to 14-20-1 which is fourth in the OHL’s Central Division.

Nathan Aspinall was scoreless as his Flint Firebirds defeated the Soo Greyhounds 3-1 in OHL play. The Flint captain was credited with five shots for the game.

Aspinall still leads the OHL in scoring with a 22-29-51 stat line. His Firebirds lead both the West Division and Western Conference with a 25-8-2-2 record.

Rauol Boilard (Vincent Ethier)

Raoul Boilard was scoreless as his Shawinigan Cataractes dropped a 2-1 decision to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in QMJHL play. Boilard was 10-4 on his faceoffs to improve his season win percentage to 65.2.

Overall he is 7-16-23 in 32 games.

E. J. Emery was scoreless as Team USA lost to Sweden 6-3 to finish the preliminary round. The 2024 first round pick was once again the third pair defense playing 16 shifts for a total of 12:59.

Emery has not even recorded a shot in three games. Team USA will face Finland on Friday in the quarterfinals.
