Greentree And Passmore See Teams Lose

The two New York Rangers prospects both saw their teams lose on Sunday night. Both teams trail in their respective series.

Greentree scores but Windsor falls in OT

Windsor slipped into a 2–0 series deficit after a 4–3 overtime loss to Kitchener on Sunday night, despite a strong push that kept the Spitfires level through regulation. Liam Greentree delivered Windsor’s opening goal, tying the game early and giving the Spitfires the spark they needed after a slow start. His effort stood out in a tight, physical matchup, and he was honored with the game’s third star.

The Rangers capitalized in overtime, leaving Windsor in a must‑win position as the series shifts to the WFCU Centre on Monday.

Greentree’s goal was one of the few bright spots in a night where Windsor again struggled to close out key moments. The Windsor captain is now 6-5-11 but his Spitfires badly need more from him.

The Spitfires matched Kitchener’s pace and generated enough offense to stay in it. However their inability to finish chances late has now cost them twice. Returning home gives Windsor a chance to reset, but the margin for error is gone. Monday becomes the first true challenge of their postseason run.

Passmore and Barrie Drop Game 3

Evan Passmore was scoreless as his Barrie Colts were shut out 2-0 as the Brantford Bulldogs took a 2–1 series lead. Barrie kept the game close but they could not find a goal especially on special teams and that proved costly. Brantford’s depth again made the difference, with balanced scoring and solid defensive stands that kept Barrie chasing the game late.

For Rangers prospect Evan Passmore, it was a quiet outing. He took a minor penalty but didn’t factor into the offense or Barrie’s late push. As the series tightens, the Colts will need more from their offense to avoid falling into a deeper hole.

Game 4 becomes pivotal as Barrie can’t afford to go back to Brantford down 3-1.
