It is that time of year when playoff races tighten and college tournaments begin. On Friday, five New York Rangers prospects played. Two earned first‑star honors.
Both had three‑point nights as their teams battle for the OHL West Division title. The Rangers continue to see strong play from two prospects who drive their teams.
Greentree Earns First Star
Liam Greentree extended his scoring streak to seven games with a 2‑1‑3 night. His Windsor Spitfires beat the Sarnia Sting 6–3. It was his ninth three‑point game of the season.
He tied the game in the first period. Greentree took a pass from Carson Woodall and lifted a backhand past the Sarnia goalie at 10:21.
He added an assist during four‑on‑four play. Greentree sent Anthony Cristoforo up ice for Windsor’s second goal at 14:04. Windsor never trailed again.
His third point came late. Greentree scored an empty‑net goal at 19:04 of the third. It was his prospect‑leading 36th goal. He ranks eighth in OHL goals.
Here are the highlights from the game.
Greentree is now 36‑32‑68 as Windsor stays close to Flint in the division race.

Aspinall Grabs a First Star Too
Nathan Aspinall matched Greentree with a 2‑1‑3 performance. His Flint Firebirds beat the Soo Greyhounds 5–2. Aspinall earned the game’s first star as Flint held its one‑point lead over Windsor.
He opened the scoring with his 31st goal at 6:31 of the first. Watch the replay to see him call for the puck and find open space.

It was his 32nd goal and his 13th three‑point game of the season. Aspinall now sits at 32‑57‑89, regaining the OHL scoring lead and the Rangers prospect lead. Flint holds a one‑point edge over Windsor with four games left for each team.
Possible First‑Round Preview
Artem Gonchar and the Sudbury Wolves lost 4–0 to the Brantford Bulldogs. Gonchar had four shots and finished -1.
Despite the loss, Sudbury clinched the eighth seed in the OHL Eastern Conference. Brantford holds the top seed and is the likely first‑round opponent.
With Sudbury clinching, all 13 North American Rangers prospects have secured playoff spots.
Boilard Commits to Lake Superior State
Raoul Boilard secured his future as a Rangers prospect by committing to Lake Superior State. His draft rights would have expired June 1 without an NCAA commitment. He will join the CCHA next season.
Boilard went scoreless Friday as Cape Breton lost 2–1 in overtime to Charlottetown. He also fought for the first time in his 179‑game QMJHL career. Under league rules, the fight earned him a game misconduct.
Cape Breton’s regulation winless streak reached six games. They appear locked into the sixth seed in the QMJHL Western Conference.
Fortescue and BC Advance
Drew Fortescue and 16th‑ranked Boston College shut out Maine 5–0 in the Hockey East quarterfinals. Fortescue earned a secondary assist on the opening goal. He is now 4‑9‑13.
BC will learn its semifinal opponent after the remaining quarterfinals finish.
Larsson Still Out
Rasmus Larsson missed game one of the Atlantic Hockey semifinal between Robert Morris and Sacred Heart. He has not played since Feb. 21. No reason has been announced.
Sacred Heart won 5–1. Robert Morris must win two straight to stay alive. Game two is Saturday at 5 p.m. EST.
