Only one New York Rangers prospect played on Monday’s playoff schedule. Flint forwards Jacob Battaglia and Nathan Aspinall led the Firebirds in a 10–0 win over the Owen Sound Attack in Game 3.

Flint also celebrated news earlier in the day. Battaglia was named the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week, becoming the third Rangers prospect this season to earn the honor. He posted a league‑best 3‑6—9 in two games, including a team playoff record six points in Game 1.

Battaglia has produced in the postseason before. He had 3‑13—16 in 11 playoff games last year. The Rangers acquired his rights in the Brennan Othmann trade. He joins Aspinall and Liam Greentree as Rangers prospects who have won the weekly award.

Aspinall earned First Star in Game 3. Flint entered the night with a 19–2 scoring edge in the series. They pushed that dominance further with a 10–0 win.

Aspinall opened his night in the first period. With Flint up 2–0, he scored his third playoff goal on a shot from the high slot.

He added a secondary assist in the second period as Flint extended the lead to 7–0.

That was Aspinall’s fifth assist of the playoffs but there was more coming. The Firebirds would add three more goals to end the second up 7-0.

In the first miunute of the third period, Aspinall would add his second goal and third point of the night. On a semi-breakaway, Aspinall would slip a quiet backhand shot between the second Owen Sound goalie of the game to make it 8-0.

Aspinall struck again early in the third. He scored on a semi‑breakaway for his second goal and third point of the game. That gave him a share of the OHL postseason scoring lead at 4‑5—9.

Battaglia broke that tie five minutes later. He forced a turnover and set up Chris Thibodeau with a behind‑the‑back pass for the OHL Play of the Night.

The assist pushed Battaglia to 3‑7—10, the top mark in the playoffs. Flint leads the series 3–0 with game 4 on Wednesday.
